Ben explaining to us about Air Force/Naval aircraft planes held on top deck of WWll Hornet ship visit....Left pic, shows area where missiles were held in place (missile loader), right is drag catching device where the dragger catches a pinned down chain device and then drags down into an in ground long vertical slot in the ground to slow planes that are landing, (I've wondered about this since my father told me about planes landing on his ship). Middle pic's, is a "Reciprocating engine"= an engine in which the to and fro motion of a piston is transformed into circular motion of the crankshaft, middle right pic, place of air exhaust, bottom pic here, Ben pointing to a cone shape spiral copper antenna (there are several different antennas, each with different function). I forgot, what did this one do again, Ben?
